HowTo: Configure a Local Cache Installer Repository
From SCInterface Wiki
Available as of SCInterface v3.0.
A local cache repository provides cached installers on each SC that has the feature enabled. This feature enable your SCs to download installer (in tarball format in Linux or the RAR file on Windows) once. The installer will also be automatically re-downloaded if the installer is updated on your primary repository.
The cached installer repository is ideal for those organizations that have multiple game servers within a single network of the same type. Often this applies to those organizations that have their internal network saturated by too many transfers from their repository. This will prevent downloading large installation files each time from the repository to add the same application type.
Installation
to create a local installer cache on each SC:
- Navigate to the Config section for each SC that you wish to have the cache repository configured.
- Click on the Commands tab and choose the command setup local cache.
- Click Execute
The SC will now automatically download and install squid and configure squid to allow large file transfers for use with SCInterface.
